Husker forward Isaiah Roby enters NBA Draft, will not hire agent

March 31, 2019

Nebraska junior forward Isaiah Roby entered his name in the 2019 NBA Draft, a source Saturday night confirmed to the Journal Star.

The junior, who averaged 11.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, will not hire an agent. This means, if he chose to, Roby could return to Nebraska for his senior season.

Roby did a similar thing one season ago, asking for an evaluation from the NBA’s undergraduate advisory committee, but not working out for any teams.

If he does return, he will be coached by Fred Hoiberg, whom the Huskers hired as the 28th men’s basketball coach in program history earlier on Saturday.

The NBA Draft Combine is in Chicago from May 14-19, where Roby will have the opportunity to perform in front of NBA coaches and scouts. He will then have until June 10 to decide if he will stay in the draft or return to Nebraska, as that marks the early entry entrant withdrawal deadline.

The 2019 NBA Draft is on June 20.
