Man found shot on Wayne Trace

A man was in critical condition Friday night after he was shot at an apartment complex on Fort Wayne’s southeast side. 

Police were called about 9:05 p.m. to the Three Fountains Cooperative complex, 4016 Wayne Trace. There, they found the man in a parking lot outside the complex suffering from a gunshot wound or wounds. 

He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but few other details were made available Friday night. 

Jason Anthony, a spokesman for the Fort Wayne Police Department, said investigators were called to the scene after emergency dispatchers received multiple calls about a possible shooting. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867. This shooting remains under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County prosecutor’s office.

Police did not have information about a suspect, and it was not clear what led to the shooting.
