August 21, 2018

Lowell Sun

It’s Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018. Here is some of what Sun staffers and other news providers are working on for lowellsun.com and Wednesday’s edition.

The Farmer’s Almanac is out with its prediction for the winter of

2018-2019, and Reporter Amaris Castillo, acastillo@lowellsun.com, is

writing about the prediction and whether such prognostications hold

up.

The Sun continues its series of stories profiling races for state

representative and state senator, with a look at the 14th Middlesex

state representative contest by Reporter Alana Melanson,

amelanson@lowellsun.com.

Less than a week after the PawSox announced plans to move to

Worcester, the owner of the Lowell Spinners met at LeLacheur Park in

Lowell with some high-level politicians and state government

officials. Reporter Rick Sobey, rsobey@lowellsun.com, has this story.

Reporter Chris Lisinski, clisinski@lowellsun.com, has a close look

at how two candidates in the race for the 3rd Congressional District

are trying to get minority voters to the polls on Sept. 4 to vote for

them.
