May 16, 2019

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (AP) — Authorities say a utility pole snapped in half and sent a tangle of live power lines down on top of a school bus in West Virginia.

WCHS-TV report ed Wednesday that students on the Kanawha County school bus were able to get out of the vehicle safely as it neared the end of its route in St. Albans.

About 4,000 Appalachian Power customers lost power because of the downed pole. The station reports the power lines caused a small fire in the grass next to the bus.
