Design for store backed

The Historic Preservation and Downtown Design Commission approved the final design for the makeover of Anthony’s 511, 511 E. Main St., on Wednesday.

Owner Anthony Chentis won the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.’s third annual Main Street Makeover contest to upgrade his storefront. This contest was an initiative of the Wisconsin Main Street Program.

Chairman Steve Board said the commission approved the materials needed, the color and the projected budget.

“It’s continuing to move forward,” he said.

The issue with the owner of the building wanting to put new siding on the building was resolved when a color was agreed upon.

“We suggested more of a warm gray color versus white and (the owner) will take that color and redo the sides around the building,” Board said.

Board said the commission also approved a two-sided projecting sign for the front of the building.
