WESTON -- Annie Villare of Chelmsford has been named the new head coach of the Regis College varsity field hockey team.

Villare most recently served as an assistant coach at Southern New Hampshire University. In addition, she coaches for the Seacoast United program out of Hampton, N.H.

Collegiately, Villare is a former team captain at UMass Lowell, where she was named to the America East All-Conference team in 2016. She was also a two-time America East Academic Honor Roll member.

“I am truly honored to take the lead of the Regis Pride field hockey program,” Villare said in a statement. “Regis has shown great strides in the last few years and I am looking forward to working with a group of young women who are determined to learn in the classroom as well as on the field.”
