LOCAL COLLEGE: Youngman’s Two Goals Fuel Pacers
Julie Youngman scored two goals to lead Marywood University to a 4-2 win over Keystone College in a women’s soccer game Tuesday.
The Pacers (2-6) outshot Keystone, 15-3, in the first half to build a 3-0 halftime lead. Natalia Colasurdo and Megan Swiecicki also scored for Marywood. Faith Shiffer and Jordyn Olsen scored for Keystone (1-7).
Scranton 2, Wilkes 0
At Scranton, Jamie Hreniuk scored two goals early in the first half to give the University of Scranton a win.
Hreniuk’s goals came on the first two shots of the game for the Royals (8-0-1) in the 11th and 15th minute. Corrine McDonald and Mazie Stiles had assists for Scranton. Samantha Cecere had four saves for Wilkes (2-4-1).
The University of Scranton scored three goals in less than seven minutes early in the second half to earn a 3-1 win over Wilkes University.
Nicolette Keale had a goal and an assist for the Royals (8-1) and Megan Gallagher and Elizabeth Tolley also scored. Amber Grohowski scored for Wilkes (5-4).
Victoria Homfeld had 14 digs, including the 1,000th of her career, to lead Keystone College to a 3-1 win over Penn State Berks. Homfeld also had 14 kills for the Giants (4-8), Kristen Larkin had 11 kills and nine digs and Pamela Heitman had 36 digs.
■ Jordan Skoff had 27 kills and nine digs to lead Lackawanna College to a 3-2 win over the County College of Morris. Amaya Townsend had nine kills and eight assists for the Lady Falcons (6-7).
