Association of California Nurse Leaders Announces 2019 Scholarship Recipients

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb 5, 2019--The Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL) awarded more than $32,000 in scholarships today during “Leaders in Action!”, the organization’s 41 st annual conference held this week at the Pasadena Convention Center.

“Promoting lifelong learning is a core component of ACNL’s mission,” said CEO Kim Tomasi, MSN, RN. “We’re extremely proud of these scholarship recipients and are grateful for the generous support from our sponsors and membership community.”

Scholarships are funded through donations from Alpha Consulting Group Inc., Bare Root, Inc., Catalyst Systems, LLC and through the generous contributions from members to ACNL’s philanthropic program, Circles of Giving. In addition to providing scholarships, member donations to Circles of Giving generate critical funds to further ACNL’s work in fostering innovation, professional development, mentorship and research to advance nursing practice and improve patient care.

All told, ACNL has awarded more than $280,000 to the California nursing community over the past ten years. Nursing is the single largest health profession in California with more than 435,000 actively licensed registered nurses.
