Shoplifting device recovered on Greenwich Ave.
GREENWICH — A police officer discovered a shoplifting device and illegal pills in a vehicle driven by a Bridgeport woman on Greenwich Avenue, according to the arrest report.
The car was pulled over Wednesday afternoon for having overly tinted windows, police said, and an officer detected the scent of marijuana inside. Police said a device for removing the security tags from clothing was found in the car. The device appeared to have been stolen from a store, as it was attached to a metal cable cut off at the end, police said.
“Officers determined that Green had been in the area with the sole intention of visiting retail stores, doing so with the device concealed within her bag which she was carrying,” the report stated.
Also discovered were 12 pills of amphetamines and two of Oxycodone, according to the arrest report.
Nickesha Green, 30, of Hollister Street, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a shoplifting device and larceny.
Bail was set at $200.
