Funeral services set for Dixon man who drowned Monday

DIXON – Funeral services are set for the 23-year-old Dixon man who drowned Monday after his car went into the Rock River near St. Marys Cement.

The visitation for Devon M. Jensen will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, 213 Crawford Ave., in Dixon. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Jensen was a triplet; among others, he is survived by his identical brothers Kent and Calvin, and his parents Michael and Deborah. He was a 2014 graduate of Dixon High School, where he was active in the Key Club.

Jensen’s car went into the river around 2:50 p.m. Monday off White Oak Lane, across from the cement plant.

When divers found the submerged car about 2 hours later, Jensen was taken to KSB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:33 p.m.

He was alone in the car. The incident is under investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.
