SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty in the shooting death of a teen.

Spartanburg County prosecutor Barry Barnette said in a news release that 20-year-old Travis Emil Jones of Greer pleaded guilty Monday to voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and battery and illegally carrying a weapon.

Jones must also serve five years of probation after the prison term.

Seventeen-year-old Antonio Panuamba of Wellford was shot to death May 5, 2017.

Investigators say Jones and Panuamba were in a group of people involved in a fistfight between Panuamba and another male. Investigators said Jones shot Panuambia and a second person who suffered a minor leg injury.
