1 killed, 1 injured in US 30 crash
One man was killed and another injured when a pickup truck and semi collided Friday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 30 West and Ohio 49 in Van Wert County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
About 3:35 p.m. the pickup driven by Clarence Radabaugh, 62, of Cloverdale, Ohio, was south on Ohio 49 and failed to yield to a semi driven west on US 30 by Jose Martinez, 47, of Elkhart, Indiana, the highway patrol at Van Wert said in a statement.
After colliding with the pickup, Martinez’s semi went through the median and overturned on the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30, blocking both lanes, the statement said. It said Radabaugh’s pickup came to rest in a westbound lane.
Radabaugh died at the scene. Martinez was taken to Van Wert Health, where he was treated and released.
U.S. 30 was closed in both directions during the crash investigation and cleanup, but has since reopened, police said.
