A Healthy Root Chakra is the Key to Well-being

September 25, 2018

Dear Bonnie: I am such a creative person, and I seem to have great ideas that come and go, but I either put them on the shelf in my mind or never really put into action any of the ideas I have. My thinking is scattered. I know I want to do more but, I can’t seem to stay focused. Any ideas that you could suggest would help. -- Colette

Dear Colette: Life is so busy, and we have all these great ideas of what we want our life to be like, creating these wonderful scenarios, and then we don’t follow through. It sounded to me after talking with you that your thoughts can get scattered and tangled. My thoughts were for everyone that seems to have the same problem of too many thoughts in their heads and not enough grounding.

Your root chakra is the place to begin. Your chakras are the life-force energy centers in your body. Each chakra spins and vibrates at its own frequency. You have seven major chakras. Your root chakra is at the base of the spine and focuses on your basic survival and bodily well-being. When one or more of these energy centers become slow or unbalanced. It can leave us feeling unbalanced or at unease.

Our root chakra is our foundation, much like the roots of a tree, holding us steady to the Earth. It is responsible for guiding us to all that we need in order to survive and grow. This chakra helps us grow into our fullest potential in this lifetime.

Having a healthy root chakra leaves you feeling solid and grounded, confident and able to express your needs clearly. A deficient root chakra will lead you to feel insecure, anxious and believing you are not worthy or entitled to the things in life that would bring you security.

To keep your root chakra in balance, you must constantly strengthen the connection to Earth with the choices you make every day. It’s those roots that we need to go deep so we can bend with the ups and downs of life without breaking. With so much going on in the world and many changing influences, we need to keep grounded within ourselves.

Start by listening to your own spirit. What soothes your soul, makes you feel safe and secure, and then no matter what is going on around you, stay focused. We all are here for a reason and have a purpose. Start by writing down your thoughts and ideas of the things you want to accomplish. This sense of knowing might keep you on track with your creative ideas. Staying grounded equals having a daily routine that supports you. Going to bed on time, eating a healthy diet, meditation and quiet reflection, and taking time for yourself -- these are very important to keep a healthy root chakra.

Create a grounded home by having a beautiful and secure place to be, surrounding yourself with people who add to your life and want to see you do well. Take time for yourself, so your thoughts can become complements to your life, not scattered and out of order. Use those creative ideas to make the best life for yourself while allowing help from the Earth and the universe to keep you on track and to fill your soul’s reason for wanting to be here in this time and space.

You are here for a reason, and your spirit knows what it is. Become grounded and centered so you can fulfill your destiny while feeling like you have a place in the world. With time, your thoughts will become clearer and more focused, truly allowing the life you have desired to come to fruition.
