Police: Nothing suspicious found after resident reports ‘possible gunshots’

An area has been cleared after a resident reported possibly hearing gunshots in Scottsbluff.Sgt. Phil Eckerberg told the Star-Herald that police responded to the area of the 2200 block of Second Avenue early Monday afternoon, where a resident had reported hearing gunshots. However, officers did not locate anything suspicious in the area.Due to the reported police activity, several schools in the area were on lockout for a short time: Bluffs Middle School, Scottsbluff High School, CHOICES, Bear Cub Preschool and Longfellow Elementary.Eckerberg told the Star-Herald that the schools are no longer on lockdown.
