SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ Oklahoma State scored 20 points in the first five minutes of the second half Saturday night on the way to an 85-70 victory over Oklahoma in the first round of the Big Eight women's basketball tournament.

The 23rd-ranked Cowgirls (23-7) will face No. 21 Nebraska (21-6) in Sunday's 4 p.m. semifinals at the Salina Bicentennial Center.

The Cowgirls, leading 34-25 at halftime, got three 3-pointers from Regi Briley in a 4 1/2 -minute span to open a 54-35 lead with 15:13 left in the game.

Oklahoma State expanded its lead to 22 points down the stretch, handing Oklahoma its 15th loss in 27 games and ending the coaching tenure of Gary Hudson. Hudson announced his resignation as OU's coach midway through the season.

Lisa McGill led Oklahoma State with 19 points and Stacy Coffey added 17, including 16 in the second half as the Cowgirls hit 53 percent from the field in the second half.

Etta Maytubby led Oklahoma with 20 points and Angie Guffy added 19.
