Man accused of fatal DUI pleads not guilty
SEATTLE (AP) — A man accused of hitting and killing a 24-year-old cyclist in Renton earlier this month has pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular manslaughter.
Forty-four-year-old Vern Henderson entered his plea Thursday. KOMO reports that this is his sixth DUI incident.
Authorities say Henderson was speeding and high on PCP and painkillers and too impaired to notice that he hit the woman.
Taylor Goehring died from her injuries. She was riding her bike when she was struck from behind on December 7.
