San Antonio Rampage lose to Rockford IceHogs in overtime
The San Antonio Rampage scored twice in the third period to pull ahead but allowed a late equalizer and eventually fell in overtime 3-2 against the Rockford IceHogs on Sunday at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Ill.
The IceHogs took a 1-0 lead into the third period after Jacob Nilsson scored early in the second.
Jordan Kyrou drew San Antonio even just 1 minute and 10 seconds into the third period with his fifth goal of the year. Jordan Nolan then notched his team-leading seventh goal of the season to put the Rampage ahead at 4:21.
But Rockford’s Graham Knott put the match level again at 13:11, and Dylan Sikura won the match for the IceHogs at 4:04 of the overtime period.
Ville Husso stopped 25 of 28 shots for the Rampage, while IceHogs goalie Kevin Lankinen made 36 saves against 38 San Antonio shots.
The Rampage, now 9-14-1 on the season, wrap up a road swing by visiting the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
