Parking Lot Gate Hits PGA Shuttle Bus

August 30, 2003

FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) _ A shuttle bus carrying spectators to a PGA golf tournament was hit by a gate and crashed Friday, injuring six people, a spokesman for the Deutsche Bank Championship said.

The bus was leaving the parking lot of Gillette Stadium when the wind blew the gate shut and hit the bus, entering the area where passengers were sitting, tournament spokesman Steve Bremer said.

Three people were seriously injured and taken by helicopter to Boston Medical Center, police said. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Three others were taken to area hospitals.

Spectators were being ferried from the stadium to a golf course in Norton, where the Deutsche Bank Championship is being played.
