Mary Schulz, Sun City, Arizona
Mary A. Schulz, 80, was born to Victor and Helen Wedekind in Baraboo on June 25, 1937. She was called home to be with her Lord on Nov. 17, 2017, in Sun City, Arizona.
She married Glen Schulz on June 4, 1958. Mary was blessed with a son, Douglas (Sharon) and a daughter, Deanna. Two grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew, brought much joy to her life.
One of eight children, Mary is survived by two brothers, Rollie (Sandy) Wedekind of Madison and Robert (Pat) Wedekind of Baraboo; and two sisters, Karen Lang of Baraboo and Joyce (Richard Upson) Mueller of New Boston, Texas; along with her husband; children; grandchildren; nieces and nephews; relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Victor; a sister-in-law, Ellen; and twin siblings, Jimmy and Joann. She truly treasured the fun times they shared as a family.
Her extended family included several hundred children whose lives she touched as a teacher for more than 30 years. Mary was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Baraboo and American Lutheran Church of Sun City, and was so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from her faith communities over the years and especially during the time of her illness.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, 727 Eighth St., Baraboo. A luncheon and time of visiting and sharing memories will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial may be made to The Greater Sauk County Community Foundation, Inc. Distinguished Elementary Teacher Award Fund; St Paul’s Lutheran Church; or the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
