Yale 62, Georgia Southern 57

TAMPA, Fla. _ Gabe Hunterton scored 16 points to lead Yale to a 62-57 victory Saturday night in the consolation round of the University of South Florida Holiday Invitational.

Despite being outshot by Georgia Southern (1-9) in the first half, the Yale Bulldogs (4-5) were able to take a 36-26 lead. The Georgia Southern Eagles were plagued by 24 turnovers.

Hunterton hit only 4-of-11 shots as Yale shot 38.6 percent, but he was 3-of-6 from 3-point range. Daniel Okonkwo added 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Boe Lintz had 12 for the Bulldogs.

Georgia Southern, led by Fernando Daniel’s 15 points, lost its sixth straight.
