MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ Police on Thursday were searching for two suspects who killed a 3-year-old girl and wounded eight other people at a Memphis home after an argument over a drug deal.
Police have questioned several people since the shootings Wednesday afternoon, but all have been released, said police spokeswoman LaTanya Able.
The two suspects were among a group of young men who had argued about a drug deal, police said. One man broke from the argument and ran to a nearby house. A vehicle chased him, and one person got out and started shooting into the house.
``We know it’s over a small quantity of drugs,″ Deputy Police Chief Bob Wright said. ``We don’t know who sold who what.″
Bullets blasted through a door and window, and at least three bullet holes could be seen in the brick on the front of the house.
Jessica Borner, 3, was killed in the home. Five children and three adults were injured, and one female remained hospitalized Thursday.
One person injured, a 19-year-old man, is being investigated for possible involvement in the drug deal, police said.
