Thousands without power in Cleveland Heights, Cleveland’s East Side

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Thousands of FirstEnergy customers are reportedly without power Sunday evening, primarily in Cleveland and Cleveland Heights.

Nearly 11,500 customers are without electricity in Cleveland Heights as of 7:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the FirstEnergy outages site. There are about 2,400 Cleveland customers without power as well on the city’s East Side.

Other East Side suburbs have reported power outages as well, but in much smaller numbers. East Cleveland has just under 400 customers without electricity, and Warrensville Heights has about 200 reported outages.

It appears the outages in Cleveland Heights are concentrated on Mayfield Road east of Lee Road and at Severance Circle.

FirstEnergy does not list a cause for the outages on its site, though it does state that crews are on their way to make repairs.

Power should be restored to the affected areas by 10 p.m. Sunday, the FirstEnergy site says.
