Presentation on DNA set at center
The Dodge/Jefferson Counties Genealogical Society will host a second presentation on DNA with speaker Dorothy Boxhorn at the Watertown Senior and Community Center, 514 S. First St., on Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m.
A news release for the event said research on DNA can be traced back to the 1860s, when DNA was discovered by a Swiss chemist studying white blood cells. DNA was given its chemical name in 1881. In the decades that followed, research on chromosomes and how offspring inherit physical characteristics from their parents came to light.
