COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Stormy Daniels’ lawyer says the porn actress has been arrested at an Ohio strip club after she let patrons touch her in violation of a state law. Michael Avenatti tells The Associated Press Thursday that Daniels was taken into custody during a show in Columbus, Ohio. Avenatti says that during the performance, some patrons touched her in a “non-sexual” way. An Ohio law prohibits anyone who isn’t a family member to touch a nude or semi-nude dancer. The lawyer says “It’s absurd that law enforcement resources are being spent to conduct a sting operation related to customers touching performers in a strip club in a non-sexual manner.” Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has said she had sex with President Donald Trump in 2006 when he was married, which Trump denies.

LONDON (AP) —Protesters will fly a giant inflatable “Trump baby” near Parliament to coincide with the President Trump’s visit to England. The 20ft-high balloon caricature depicts the leader as an angry infant wearing a diaper and clutching a mobile phone. It will fly in Parliament Square for two hours on Friday morning. Organizers who crowdfunded the balloon hope it can be a symbol for all those campaigning against the president’s controversial policies. The blimp was approved by the Greater London Authority, and the mayor defended the decision, saying it is not for him to be a censor or to decide what is in good or bad taste.

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) —A pastor armed with a handgun attempted to stop a burglar fleeing from his church in Vermont. Pastor Richard Menard of the New Beginnings Christian Church in St. Johnsbury told police there had been multiple burglaries at his church recently. He heard his building alarm go off and confronted a fleeing burglar with a handgun. He says he told the 32-year-old suspect to freeze, but he ran off into the woods. Police say Justin Kirby, of Lyndon, was arrested and faces a number of charges, including burglary.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah police are looking for the owner of a loaded gun left behind on a baby changing table in a women’s restroom at a suburban Salt Lake City aquarium. Authorities said they don’t plan to file criminal charges against the gun’s owner -- they want to find out how the .380-caliber pistol was left behind and return it. Police Lt. Chad Carpenter tells the Deseret News that it’s not uncommon for people to leave weapons behind in bathrooms and other places. A woman found the weapon when she tried to change her newborn baby with her 4-year-old son in tow at the Living Planet Aquarium, which doesn’t allow weapons. She says the gun atop the folded-up table was a “tragedy waiting to happen” and she’s upset no one will be charged.

PULASKI, N.Y. (AP) — A central New York man got a rude awakening when a large snake fell from his bedroom ceiling and landed on him while he slept. The state Department of Environmental Conservation says one of its officers responded to a call on June 29 from a man who says a snake had fallen on him while he was sleeping in his apartment in the Oswego County village of Pulaski (puh-LAS’-keye), 35 miles north of Syracuse. DEC officials say the officer determined a 6-foot-long red-tailed boa constrictor had escaped its enclosure in an apartment. The agency says the snake fell from the ceiling of the downstairs apartment, where it landed on a man sleeping in bed. The man wasn’t injured. The snake has been returned to its owner.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A transgender former middle school student who fought to use the bathroom of her choice in Maine is preparing for her big screen debut. Nicole Maines is starring in the indie horror film “Bit” as a transgender teen trying to co-exist with and understand a group of feminist vampires in Los Angeles. Maines, who is 20 now, made her TV acting debut three years ago in the USA Network series “Royal Pains.” She also appeared in documentaries as herself. The state supreme court ruled in 2014 that her rights were violated when school officials wouldn’t let the transgender fifth-grader to use the girls’ bathroom.
