Four people arrested, charged with felonies after drug raid in Elyria

ELYRIA, Ohio -- Two people from Elyria and two from Michigan are being held in the Lorain County Hail after a drug raid Wednesday at two Elyria apartments, according to Elyria police.

Elyria police executed search warrants about 4:35 p.m. Wednesday on two apartments in a complex on the 1300 block of East Avenue, Capt. Chris Costantino said.

The warrants were the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation into Pedro Franceschi, 36, and Courtney Warrens, 26, both of Elyria. Police also arrested Keshawn Freeman and Damon Farish, Jr., both 21 and from Detroit.

All four face second-degree felony charges of trafficking in drugs and possession of a controlled substance, court records show.

Detectives determined that Franceschi was purchasing large quantities of Percocet prescription pills from suppliers in Detroit, Costantino said. Police believe Franceschi would then distribute these pills to lower-level dealers who sold the drugs throughout Lorain County.

Police seized over 800 Oxycodone pills, $3,000 in cash and a loaded shotgun during the raid, Costantino said.

Elyria Municipal Court Judge Robert C. White set bond for each co-defendant at $500,000, court records show. The quartet is set to appear in court Tuesday afternoon for a preliminary hearing.
