International festival returns to Redding Elementary with more performances
Redding Elementary School’s International Festival returns this Saturday.
The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Redding Elementary School, at 33 Lonetown Road. It is run by the school’s parent teacher association.
This year’s theme is “One Town, Many Stories” and features tables that share food and facts for particular countries. Each table is manned by parents and students.
There will be four new cultural performances this year, including Ginga Brasiliera performing dances of Brazil, Kahana Hulu will demonstrate Hawaiian dance, Li Liu will showcase interactive Chinese acrobatics and Sirius Coyote will play traditional and folk music of Las Americas.
The students will also sing in Spanish.
“This is the first year the festival has offered so many performances, and it’s been made possible through the support, in both fundraising and membership, of the Redding Elementary School community,” according to the news release.
