Cabell County Public Library to host family history event
HUNTINGTON — Have you ever been interested in researching your family history and genealogy but don’t know where to begin?
The Cabell County Public Library will host a family history class at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the main library at 455 9th St., Huntington. The class will use software from FamilySearch.org. FamilySearch, the largest genealogy organization in the world, is a nonprofit family history organization dedicated to connecting families across generations.
The family history class will be taught by Brent and Debbie Nelson, who are experienced in using software by FamilySearch.org. This class is an opportunity for community members to learn family history and genealogy search techniques and build their own family trees.
Subsequent to the class, participants may sign up for individual, one-on-one consultation. There is no charge for the class, software or consultation.
The class also will be offered at the Gallaher Village Library at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24.
