Rochester man arrested on warrants faces new charges
A Rochester man arrested Friday on several felony warrants faces new charges for allegedly possessing a stolen gun and endangering a child.
Tyrone Padgett, 33, was arrested Friday by Rochester Police at 120 N. Broadway Ave. Police used a ruse in order to arrest the man without incident, according to Rochester Police Capt. John Sherwin.
When officers entered his apartment for the arrest, Sherwin said they noticed ammunition and drug paraphernalia in plain sight. Police later returned with a search warrant and found a stolen handgun, a small amount of methamphetamine and marijuana, Sherwin said. Police said there was also a child in the apartment.
Padgett could face 11 charges, the majority of which are felonies, including felony third-degree controlled substance possession — methamphetamine, felony possession of stolen property $1,000 to $5,000 and felony neglect or endangerment of a child.
