SINGAPORE (AP) _ Australian Nick O'Hern broke the course record and claimed a one-stroke lead in the Singapore Masters on Thursday at Laguna National Golf and Country Club.

The left-hander birdied his final three holes to shoot an 8-under 64.

Christophe Pottier of France carded a 65, and Carlos Rodiles of Spain a 66.

Nick Faldo birdied the last for a 68, while another featured player, Ian Woosnam, shot a disappointing 73. The Welshman said he was struggling with his irons and planning to change his grips.

The $900,000 event is co-sanctioned by the Asian and European Tours.
