Bengals, Roman Agree on Contract
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (AP) _ The Cincinnati Bengals have agreement with second-round draft choice Mark Roman on a four-year contract.
Roman, who the Bengals had hoped could compete for a starting job, was the only second-round choice unsigned. Three first-rounders remain without contracts _ linebacker Julian Peterson of San Francisco, wide receiver Sylvester Morris of Kansas City and offensive tackle Chris McIntosh of Seattle.
The agreement was reached late Monday night with Joel Segal, agent representing the cornerback from LSU, the Bengals reported Tuesday on the team’s Internet site.
Roman was expected to fly into Cincinnati on Tuesday and sign the contract before joining practice sessions in the afternoon at Georgetown College.
Contract details were not disclosed
Roman has already missed the Bengals’ first preseason game. The second one is Friday night in Atlanta.
