2 children killed in north Florida home fire

POMONA PARK, Fla. (AP) — Firefighters in north Florida found the lifeless bodies of two children while putting out a fast-moving mobile-home fire.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters on Sunday unsuccessfully tried to rescue the two children, whose names and ages weren’t released by authorities.

The Florida Times-Union reports that the fire destroyed the mobile home in Pomona Park, Florida, about 75 miles south of Jacksonville.

Authorities say the cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
