Two arrested after HPD sweep of 8th Avenue residence

HUNTINGTON — Two people were arrested on felony drug charges Thursday following the execution of a search warrant at 524 ½ 8th Ave, according to Huntington Police.

Deontae Cortez Hale, aka “Smooth,” of Romulus, Michigan, was charged with possession with intent to deliver drugs and obstructing an officer. Penny M. Spears, of Huntington, was charged with possession with intent to deliver drugs.

During the search, officers with the Huntington Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau recovered suspected heroin, pills, marijuana, cash, materials used for packaging drugs and scales. A vehicle also was seized.

The property owner will be issued a nuisance letter for the drug activity and will have 10 days to respond, according to police.
