The Food and Drug Administration said five patients died after using dialysis machines made by the medical products company.

Coca-Cola Enterprises, up 74 cents at $21.10

Goldman Sachs raised the stock rating to the world’s No. 1 bottler.

Xcel Energy Inc., up 68 cents at $9.28

A.G. Edwards upgraded the energy company’s stock.

NASDAQ

AFC Enterprises Inc., down $1.91 at $19.15

Salomon Smith Barney downgraded the stock of the second-largest operator of fast-food chicken restaurants, including Church’s Chicken and Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits.

West Corp., down $2.78 at $15.17

The No. 3 provider of outsourced teleservices cut its third-quarter earnings outlook and said it was replacing CFO Michael Micek.

Adobe Systems Inc., up $2.32 at $20.77

The desktop publishing software maker met lowered third-quarter earnings expectations.
