Angola man killed in moped, car crash
A moped rider was killed in a crash Saturday night in Steuben County.
About 10:25 p.m., the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department was called to a vehicle crash on County Road 200 West north of U.S. Highway 20.
Once at the scene, deputies determined that a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Robert Watson, 38, of Angola, had collided with a northbound 2002 Yamaha Zuma moped driven by Duane Boylers, 65, also of Angola, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
Boyles was pronounced dead at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner’s Office due to traumatic injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
Watson was not hurt and was wearing his seatbelt.
Deputies were unsure if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
