The Pathways to Bright Futures Foundation hosts annual Derby Day
ASHLAND — The Old Post Office at 1645 Winchester Ave. in Ashland will be the setting for the Derby Day for Autism on Saturday, May 4, from 5-11 p.m. Sponsored by the Pathways to Bright Futures Foundation, proceeds will go toward Pathways’ autism expansion.
Last year’s Derby Day for Autism helped raise over $20,000.
The generosity of sponsors helped with the purchase of weighted blankets, iPads and physical therapy equipment as well as renovations for the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
In addition to the Derby party, Raffle tickets are now being sold by Foundation Board Members for a chance to win a choice of one of six vacation packages (airfare included) to a Puntacana Resort & Club Caribbean Paradise, to a Cabo San Lucas Ocean View Getaway, a Los Cabos all-inclusive trip, a Cancun all-inclusive trip, Puerto Vallarta all-inclusive trip, or an exploration of Key West (the winner does not have to be present to win).
Raffle tickets are $50 each and only 250 are being sold.
The cost of each ticket for the Saturday Derby Day for Autism event is $125, which includes hors d’oeuvres, dinner provided by the Scioto Ribber, an open bar, and entertainment provided by AAA Entertainment/Joe Kerner Productions (disc jockeys, full-screen video displays, lights and music with hype dancers).
Corporate sponsorships are also available. Besides dinner and dancing, attendees can also watch the Derby race live and full-screen, and take part in a silent auction.
A prize will be awarded for the best ladies’ Derby hat and the best men’s bow tie, so come dressed in your festive Derby attire.
Foundation board member Joyce Boggs shares, “Pathways’ Center for Autism and Develop- mental Disabilities now provides expanded services to the community. No child or their family in our area should have to leave for these valuable services. We have seen our Foundation’s goals for autism and our annual event grow each year.”
