LOGAN, W.Va. - A drug bust in Logan, West Virginia, on Wednesday afternoon yielded a substantial amount of cash.

According to Logan Police Chief P.D. Clemens, Patrolman Everett Maynard obtained a search warrant for the Charles Street home of Ricky Damron, 57, after he received some information about drugs being in the residence.

When Maynard served the warrant and searched the home, he found drugs (one of which was identified as suboxone), a handgun and between $36,000 and $37,000 in cash.

“As far as cash goes, this is the largest bust since I’ve been there,” Clemens said.

Damron has been charged with possession with intent to deliver and was arraigned on a $50,000, 10 percent cash or surety bond. He is being held at Southwestern Regional Jail.

As of Thursday afternoon, Maynard was taking the other drugs to a pharmacy to identify them.
