Applications being accepted for Tulip Ambassadors

January 31, 2019
Early varieties of tulips show color in March 2018 in a field at Tulip Town.

The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival will accept applications through Friday from local fourth- and fifth-grade students to compete to become Tulip Ambassadors.

One boy and one girl will be chosen Feb. 6 at Maple Hall in La Conner starting at 5 p.m.

Each contestant will be judged on their answer to two questions: “Why do you want to be a Tulip Ambassador?” and a secret question such as “What is your favorite subject in school and why?”

The Tulip Ambassadors will make appearances throughout the festival, including going to Olympia to meet Gov. Jay Inslee.

Applications are available at tulipfestival.org under forms and press releases. They can be returned to the festival office via mail, email or fax.

For questions or more information, contact the Tulip Festival office at 360-428-5959.
