Insight Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School Grows Career Prep Programs for the 2018-2019 School Year
EXTON, Penn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug 28, 2018--Students and teachers at Insight Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (ISPA) will start the 2018-2019 school year on September 4, simply by turning on their computers. A full-time, tuition-free online public charter school entering its second year of operation, ISPA is open to students in grades K-11 throughout the state. The online school will grow to serve K-12 in the 2019-2020 school year.
ISPA provides each student with a personalized online learning experience. Students at all grade levels engage in a rigorous curriculum in the core subjects of math, science, language arts, history, art and music. High school students have the opportunity to take career focused courses through ISPA’s Destinations Career Program. The program introduces students to specialty trade skills through online career technical education courses in fields of business administration, health sciences and information technology, gaining them a valuable edge as they prepare for future careers and college.
“At ISPA, our priority is to prepare our students to future opportunities, and unlock their true potential,” said Executive Director Shannon McElwain. “Whether our students plan to go to college or enter in-demand career fields, the online learning platform and our dedicated teachers are here to offer a learning experience that uniquely supports each student.”
Pennsylvania-licensed teachers facilitate ISPA’s live, interactive online classes. To keep students on track, ISPA deploys a Family Academic Support Team (FAST). FAST offers integrated support to families, teachers and students, with the goal of improving attendance, engagement and academic outcomes. Along with community partners, FAST aims to prevent and eliminate the barriers that can leave students vulnerable to falling behind, before such needs arise.
Throughout the year, ISPA builds a sense of community through in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social outings. Virtual clubs and student organizations also allow students to further explore their interests together in the online setting.
ISPA is accepting enrollment applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Families are encouraged to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the school.
