GIRLS CAPSULES CLASS 3A 2-1 Dunmore (27-0) vs. 12-1 Neumann-Goretti (20-8) ■ When: Tonight, 7 p.m., at Lehighton Elementary Center ■ How they got here: Dunmore beat Constitution, 62-14, and previously undefeated St. Basil Academy, 46-36; Neumann-Goretti beat Susquenita, 81-42, and Warrior Run, 69-16. ■ Players to watch: Dunmore — Moriah Murray, 15.8 ppg; Victoria Toomey, 12.5; Gianna Delfino, 8.3; Lisa Tallo, 7.9. Neumann-Goretti Diamond Johnson, 28.0 ppg; Kiana Kroger is a 3-year starter and Nia Jordan, who like Kroger, is a double-digit scorer. ■ What’s next: The winner advances to Monday’s semifinals to meet the victor of the Trinity-Imhotep Charter game. ■ The buzz: Fans should arrive early as bleacher seating is only one side of the gym. … The teams have played four times in five years, NG winning all of them, all at Bethlehem Freedom: 66-42 (2018), 52-26 (2016), 64-61 (2015), and 56-30 (2014). … Dunmore staged a big second-quarter rally last season after falling into a 15-2 hole to start, but Tatiana Jones scored seven of 11 in the third when Dunmore committed seven turnovers. … The Saints’ last PIAA playoff loss came in the 2014 state title game to Seton LaSalle, but their closest game came against Dunmore in 2015. … Johnson is 12 points shy of 2,000 … Delfino has made 11 of 13 shots in two state playoff games. Mahanoy Area — Jordan Karmonick, 11.6 ppg; Emily Lawrence, 11.2; Abbey McGee, 8.3; Kendall Bernardyn, 7.0. ■ How they got here: Old Forge beat GAMP, 55-20, and Linden Hall, 32-29; Mahanoy Area beat So. Columbia, 49-34, and Sacred Heart, 55-35. ■ What’s next: The winner advances to Monday’s semifinals to meet the victor of the York Catholic-Bellwood Antis game. ■ The buzz: The teams know each other, playing three times in the last two seasons, and meeting at summer team camp, where Mahanoy won at the buzzer. … Mahanoy averages 55.2 points and allows just 32.4. … The Golden Bears come to the gym in launch mode from 3-point range. Jenkintown — Mia Kolb, 12.9 ppg; Natalie Kolb, 10.5; Carly Mulvaney, 11.3; Molly Walsh, 7.0. ■ What’s next: The winner advances to Tuesday’s semifinals to meet the victor of the Weatherly-Lourdes Regional game. ■ The buzz: Jenkintown is the defending champ in Class 1A, edging Juniata Valley in OT last year, 51-46. … The Lady Drakes have won four straight District 1 championships. The Kolb sisters are twins, with Mia a 1,000-point scorer.
