Fuel spill reduces lanes on Summer Street in Stamford
STAMFORD — A fuel spill caused by an accident on Summer Street Tuesday morning is expected to snarl traffic for hours.
Sgt. Chris Weed said Summer Street has been reduced to one lane for about a quarter mile from Bull’s Head to County TV & Appliance at 2770 Summer St.
Weed said the 9 a.m. accident occurred when one car struck another, but one of them then struck a large delivery truck, punching a hole in its fuel tank.
Weed said the lanes will likely be closed until early afternoon.
