PASADENA, Calif. (AP) _ A woman jogging with her dogs found a day-old boy along the path, partially buried with his umbilical cord still attached.

The baby was undergoing treatment Sunday for severe hypothermia at Huntington Memorial Hospital. He was in serious condition.

``The baby has been doing remarkable,'' said Dr. Ricardo Leibermann Memorial Hospital. ``It's kind of very sad that somebody has to get to a point of desperation that they have to do such a thing to a baby.''

Azita Milanian found the infant Saturday night partially buried in a blue towel.

``He opened his eyes and he grabbed my wrist from the ground and he would not let go,'' Milanian said.

Authorities were seeking information that would help them identify the mother.

``The baby was full-term and the delivery appears to have occurred just before (the child) was discovered in a shallow grave,'' said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Michael Irving
