Bridgeport fire causes minor smoke damage to businesses
BRIDGEPORT — There was minor smoke damage at city businesses on Madison Avenue after a Saturday morning fire, officials said
Deputy Chief Lance Edwards said fire units responded to 750 Madison Ave. for a reported fire. Online records show the address is home to Nina’s Hookah Lounge. Edwards said the first fire unit on scene reported light smoke coming from the building. A working fire was declared soon after.
The fire was put out quickly and kept to the area of origin, which Edwards said was the rear of the building.
Primary and secondary searches were negative. And although there were no injuries, Edwards said, both adjacent businesses received minor smoke damage from the fire.
The Health Department was notified and responded to the scene. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
