The man killed in a Friday morning mobile home fire in Longmont has been identified as 67-year-old Kenneth Stanoff.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died in a mobile home fire last week.

Kenneth Stanoff, 67, was rescued from his home Friday and taken to Longmont United Hospital, where he died that day, according to a news release from the coroner.

The autopsy is complete, but the coroner is still investigating the cause and manner of death.

Longmont firefighters responded Friday morning to the Weston Manor Mobile Home Park on 17th Avenue. They were met with heavy smoke and hot flames , but were able to enter briefly through the back of the home to find Stanoff.

It’s believed the fire was started by careless smoking near combustible material , according to fire investigators. A fire report has not yet been finalized.

Investigators found smoke detectors in the home, but it’s unknown if they were functional at the time of the fire.

A cat also died in the fire.
