VAESTERAAS, Sweden (AP) _ A court ordered a Swedish man who was arrested with a gun in his carry-on luggage to be kept in custody Monday while prosecutors investigate charges he planned to hijack an airliner. The suspect's lawyer told the court his client was innocent.

The district court judge ordered Kerim Chatty detained on preliminary charges of planning to hijack a plane and illegal possession of a weapon. He said charges have to be brought by Sept. 16.
