Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested Malik S. Staples, 37, of Kankakee, for delivery of a controlled substance from a previous KAMEG investigation on Feb. 17. According to a release, agents arrested Staples in the 1700 block of West Station Street. On May 23, 2018, Staples is accused of selling 1.2 grams of crack cocaine for $100 to a confidential source, according to a prosecutor. A judge set Staples bond at $75,000.
Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested Adrianne D. Ducharme, 40, of Kankakee, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver on Feb. 15. According to a prosecutor, KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of South Wildwood Avenue on Feb. 15. Agents recovered 10.5 grams of cocaine, 1.2 grams of cannabis wax and $140 in cash in the house. A judge set Ducharme’s bond at $50,000.
Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested Alton G. Smith, 39, of Kankakee, for delivery of a controlled substance from a previous KAMEG investigation on Feb. 15. According to a prosecutor, Smith is accused of selling 1.2 grams of cocaine for $150 to a confidential source on Dec. 9, 2018. A judge set his bond at $100,000.
Kankakee police arrested Lyn Love, 28, of Bourbonnais, for possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis on Feb. 15. According a report, Love was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for having a rear driver’s side brake light out. Officers smelled the odor of raw cannabis. Love was found to have 15 ecstasy pills on him. Corrections officers found 28.31 grams of cannabis in a clear plastic bag during a search of Love during his booking into the jail.
Kankakee police took a report of a theft of a firearm from a residence in the 600 block of South Fifth Avenue on Feb. 16. The man reporting the theft said he suspects the firearm was taken by the son of his wife’s cousin. The victim said he confronted the man, who denied having the firearm. The victim said he threw out the man. An officer also learned the victim’s FOID card was missing as well.
