Search for Missing Air Force Academy Student Suspended in Rocky Mountain National Park

December 5, 2018

Tice

Rocky Mountain National Park officials have suspended the search for a missing U.S. Air Force Academy student.

Micah Tice, 20, was last seen Nov. 24 near the Battle Mountain Area when other park visitors discouraged him from continuing to the summit of Longs Peak because of bad weather conditions.

Ground and aerial search teams have been looking for Tice in a 10-square-mile area since Nov. 27, but in a news release issued Tuesday park officials announced the search is being suspended.

Snowfall and high winds have hampered search efforts and in the absence of clues regarding Tice’s whereabouts, search operations are being suspended. Limited search activities are possible throughout the winter as conditions allow.

Anyone who might have had contact with Tice or has information on his planned route is asked to call 970-586-1204.
