Two Deaths Feared in Cave-In at Subway Construction Site
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ A steel roadway covering a subway construction site collapsed today in the southern port city of Pusan, and two people were feared dead and three were injured, the Yonhap News Agency reported.
The agency said a temporary dam holding back sea water broke, flooding the construction site and causing the collapse. A bus and a taxi driving on the steel roadway plunged 50 feet into the hole, the agency said.
Two people trapped under debris were believed dead, and three were reported injured, the agency said. Pusan is about 250 miles south of Seoul.
The agency said the flood caused erosion, and about 90 minutes later a nearby five-story building collapsed. No one was reported injured in the collapse.
It was not known how many passengers were aboard the bus.
