Home damaged, RV destroyed in early morning fire
A fire destroyed a recreational vehicle and damaged a house in the 1200 block of Mohican Drive early Friday morning.
Lake Havasu City fire department officials say the fire was reported around 12:20 a.m. by a neighbor. When firefighters arrived, they found a fully involved RV fire that had extended into the attic of the home.
Four engine companies, one truck company, two battalion commanders, and one division chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 30 minutes. The occupants evacuated the house safely.
There were no reported injuries to any firefighters. The Community Emergency Response Team responded with nine members to assist with rehabilitation duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional 1½ hours conducting salvage operations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
