Ovitz Donates $25 Million to UCLA
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Entertainment industry giant Michael Ovitz has announced a $25 million donation to the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ovitz said he will donate the money toward a $1.3 billion plan to replace or repair much of the earthquake-damaged health sciences campus, including the UCLA Medical Center.
As a model of the replacement hospital was unveiled Tuesday, Ovitz confessed that he was one credit shy of meeting graduation requirements.
Ovitz said he hoped work on the hospital will either prevent the issue from being raised or count as extra credit, UCLA spokeswoman Roxanne Yamaguchi Moster said.
Ovitz is part of the new management team at Broadway theater producer Livent Inc. He is a former Walt Disney Co. president and top Hollywood agent.
