Jazz Center Ostertag Suspended

February 12, 2002

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Utah Jazz reserve center Greg Ostertag was suspended for one game after bumping coach Jerry Sloan on the sidelines during a game last Wednesday in Memphis.

Ostertag will miss Tuesday night’s game at Indiana.

The Pacers also signed Rusty LaRue to a second 10-day contract Monday, Jazz spokesperson Kim Turner said.

LaRue was first signed two weeks ago after guard John Crotty was placed on the injured list because of tendinitis in his left knee. LaRue averaged 7.3 points in six preseason games before being placed on waivers.

He then played with the Asheville Altitude of the National Basketball Development League and averaged 12 points while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range. LaRue spent parts of three seasons with Chicago from 1997-2000.
